Slovenian retailer Mercator has been granted approval to take over Croatian retailer Getro.

"We assess that there is no excessive market concentration after this transaction, so we see no reason not to approve it," the Croatian market competition regulator (AZTN) said in a statement.

The retailer currently operates in Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania and Bulgaria.
