Russia-based X5 Retail Group is reportedly launching a new format for its price oriented Pyaterochka banner.

The retailer plans to introduce a smaller Pyaterochka store format in Moscow and Ekaterinburg in spring. The new format will cover about 120-180 square metres, which is three times smaller than a traditional Pyaterochka store.


The pricing in the small format is not expected to change. The retailer anticipates a fast store development as it is much easier to find landscape for a small format.
